Freezing meals is a great way to save time in those busy dinner hours. A tip for freezing baby and toddler meals, which tend to be ‘mushy’, is to flatten them in the freezer bag as much as possible before putting into the freezer. This way, the meals will stack nicely and take up much less space in the freezer. This photo shows about thirty toddler meals in the freezer (1 cup portions)! For portioning, use the bowl that your child normally eats from, add the amount of food she would normally eat and that is the right amount for each freezer bag. Also, look for BPA-free freezer bags, Ziploc makes a line of these that are great. Happy freezing!
