Is iPhone the new camera? With iPhones exploding in popularity over the last few years, parents are leaving their cameras at home and opting to capture their family moments with their cell phones. Quick, light, high quality cameras in phones make capturing (and sharing) spontaneous family moments easier than ever.

Apps like Instagram make editing photos fast and easy. Sharing the latest photos of your kids on Facebook or Twitter with friends and family in real time is a snap, but what about prints? One of the best things about photos has always been the tangible photo print.

For those who still love prints and are looking for a way to print those Instagram pics, Printstagram is a great option. Printstagram offers several ways to print your pics, from photo squares to posters, stickers, photobooks, mini prints and t-shirts.

Sugar Muse checked out the photo squares. We chose the 4″ x 4″ squares. Photo squares come in two sizes: you can choose from 48 photo squares at 2″ x 2″ or 12 photo squares at 4″ x 4″ – either option is $12 plus shipping. Shipping to Canada was $12, not bad.

To select your Instagram photos, Printstagram asks you to log into your Instagram account through their site. A great idea, no uploading required. We ran into some trouble with the user interface, it wouldn’t load all of our photos, but instead loaded duplicates of photos that were already loaded. This was frustrating, as we couldn’t select all of photos that we wanted to print. An email to customer service was returned the next day advising us that the site is “finicky” and that they are in the process of rebuilding it.

The photos came fairly quickly. The prints arrived in just less than two weeks from when we placed the order. Exciting!

The quality of the prints is, in our opinion, extremely high. The photos came printed on heavy stock, almost card stock like, with a matte finish that are smudge proof and seem quite durable overall. Not your traditional photo paper at all, and we like it! These are great for giving to family and friends, they will be impressed with the quality and finish and how they hold true to the Instagram look and feel.

We will definitely be using this service again, and soon! Very happy with quality and speed; we hope the user interface catches up soon! Nine out of ten stars.
